What is it?

Facebook allows you to add your own tabs to your corporate Facebook page.

With InnTrack Employment Branding, you can take advantage of this Facebook feature to embed a list of jobs (or almost any other content) from your careers site directly into your Facebook page as shown below.

How it works

From the example above it may look like Facebook itself is hosting some of your careers site. It isn't.

Instead, Facebook achieves this by fetching a specific web page from your careers site (your "Facebook careers page"), making some changes to it on the fly (for example, rewriting the links inside it), and then finally displaying your careers page framed inside the Facebook user interface.

Therefore the main piece of work is to set up a special web page on your careers site (your "Facebook careers page") that is intended only to be embedded inside Facebook, and then tell Facebook about it.

Since the Facebook careers page is actually a real web page on your own careers site that you have full control over, you would typically make sure that there were no navigation paths (such as menus and links) leading to this page from the rest of the site. This way the page will be effectively invisible except to Facebook (there's no security reason to make it invisible like this, but visitors to your careers site might find the page a little confusing).

  • Ensure that your site is using SSL (Facebook requires this)
  • Design and create the Facebook careers page inside your careers site
  • Setup the Facebook App required to access it
  • Your company’s Facebook administrator adds it to your company’s Facebook page
